"Sneak Peek" Original Oil 10" x 15" This Original Is In A Private Collection. |
The painting "Sneak Peek" has now made its way onto the website. This idea came from a bike ride in the very scenic Bacon Creek Park, Sioux City, Iowa. It was a beautiful day in the fall, and the squirrels were running every where, looking for those special nuts worthy of their winter harvest.
However, every time I would stop the bike and try to take a picture, they would scurry away, so I would just continue on. If anything I was going to get a nice bike ride in. Then in the distance on the bike trail I could see a squirrel who seemed to be multitasking. Getting as much done as he could before the human would pass by.
As I continued to ride closer, going around the curves, up and down the ravens, he could be seen moving around the ground and fallen logs, then all of a sudden, up the tree he went.
All I could hope for was that he would still be in that same tree by the time I got there, stop the bike, and pull my camera out of the saddle bag. With nerves set on high, and my hands shaking, I drew up the camera, and hit the shutter button. He thought I couldn`t see him, but I had a 400 meter lens. His curious little soul made the painting.
