This is a weekend show which will be publicized to over 5,550 contacts through our social media pages. Each year over 35,000 visitors walk through our visitor center during crane season. Last year our first Art Show was a great success so we are offering it again this year.

The event is sponsored by the Center for Western Studies at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, which is designed to educate the public about the cultural importance and variety of regional art and artists.

The Stuhr Museum is proud to announce the opening of the 27th annual "Wings Over the Platte" art exhibit and sale, the region’s largest art exhibit dedicated to life on the Platte River, opening Friday, February 14th at Bartenbach Gallery in downtown Grand Island. The exhibit runs through April 6th.
This show features a fantastic variety to appeal to the naturalist and artist alike. “Wings Over the Platte” is one of the largest art shows in the country dedicated to life on the Platte River and its tributaries, and this year the pieces include oils, pastels, wildlife photography, sculpture, wood carving, pencil drawings, felt work and much more.
The public can view this year’s “Wings Over the Platte” show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday through March 30th at Bartanbach Gallery. First Annual Great Plains Art Show
Sioux City Art Center’s ARTcetera '16
Featuring artwork by over 50 well-known artists with a Siouxland connection by invitation to exhibit. Those attending the reception get the first opportunity to add these works to their collections, all of the art will remain on display through August 7, giving visitors the opportunity to view the exhibition and buy unsold work.

A Walk on the Wild Side
This is a solo exhibit titled "A Walk on the WIld Side" consisting of 30 paintings at the Sears Center in Decautr Nebraska. The exhibit will be on display October 6th through December 28th. Studio 'Plein Air' Workshop
October 25, 26, & 27th 2012 - Thursday thru Saturday - 9 am to 4 pm - $295
This fall I am excited to have Jeanne Mackenziee here at the studio teaching a workshop on 'Plein Air" painting. It will be a great class that will help you loosen up and become more spontaneous with your paintings. The demos and instruction will be in oil, but other mediums are also welcome. This class is open to all levels of painters. It will be a great learning experience for all. FEATURED EXHIBITION FOR FEBRUARY 2012: The Blue Buffalo Artists are a group of award winning, professioal artists. Twenty-four artists from eight Western states make up this group. They promote learning by offering workshops in multiple media and art disciplines and also provide a format to their members for showing and selling their original fine art. A reception will be at the Depot Gallery on February 10th 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This is my first year with the BBA. I am honored to be a part of this art group and have two pieces in the show. Explore the techniques and intricacies of pastels. Many artists enjoy using this brilliantly- pigmented chalk because of it multiple capabilities. It addresses the intimate nature of drawing as well as exploring color as a painterly activity. Deb’s main subject area is wildlife imagery; however, all subjects are encouraged. Any level of painter is welcome. Materials will be available for the first class at which time a complete materials list will be available for subsequent classes. This class is available for renewal or graduate credit through NWAEA.

The Platte River Art Show - Deb Joins 28 Other Artists Representing Six States
Known as "The Most Prestigious Art Show On The River," Deb and 28 other artists representing six different states will be offering their work for sale and viewing this weekend at The Platte River Art Show.
Many types of art will be represented including: Wildlife, Landscape, Cityscape, Portrait, Still Life, Native American, Southwest, Americana, Impressionistic, European, Sculpture, Woodcarving, Pottery, Photography, Silversmith, and Antler Carving. Of course, Deb will be showing her unique works seen on this website.
